 The most important part of a fisherman’s equipment is his fishing line. There are many great lines available today, for every application. FISH THIS has tested many of the braid lines and PowerPro has risen to the top. PowerPro is a Spectra® fiber, extremely round and ultra-sensitive. It comes in line strength from 5-250lb test. We tested it in all sorts of conditions and fishing for numerous species of fish such as smallmouth, largemouth and trout. We gave it the ultimate test in Mexico Beach, Florida for Big Reds. In all conditions and situations, it has never let us down. Being a super braid, it is extremely important that you put some sort of backing on your reel before tying on the braid. You can put a few yards of mono, or just wrap your spool with electrical tape, before tying on the braid, both methods work fine. We mainly use a mono or fluorocarbon leader when fishing this line. Usually a 3-6 foot leader will work. There are many knots that will work, when tying on your leader, but we have been using the surgeons knot exclusively, with great results. We use braid on all our reels, which eliminates the need to re-spool year after year. This line is tuff and very durable. All you need to do is just replace your leader.
